Ingredient
6 large apples it’s about 6 cups of sliced apples
½ cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon flour (for the filling)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
1 cup flour (for the topping)
1 cup packed brown sugar
¼ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon baking powder
½ cup butter, melted
Direction
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Peel, core, and slice apples. Place in a baking dish. RECOMMENDED SIZES: 8″ round, 9″ round, or any 2-quart casserole dish. If using a bigger size (such as 9″x13″) consider doubling the recipe to maintain the intended apple-to-topping ratio.
Mix together ½ cup granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle the mixture over the sliced apples and toss to combine.
Combine the remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix until crumbly. Use a fork to incorporate the butter, if necessary. Top the sliced apples evenly with the crumbly oatmeal mixture. Do not mix the topping into the apples.
Bake for 45 minutes or until apples no longer have any crunch. Serve warm.
